Young artists from Tipperary are busy creating a sculpture for the Blueway

The junior artists of STAG (South Tipperary Art Group) have started their second six-week session, which will run until Saturday, December 18 inclusive.
Membership is now closed for new members but a waiting list is in place. Contact organizer Maureen Purcell at 086-8096823 for more details.

Both sections (elementary and senior) are now in the process of completing the enamel casting art project with sculptors Philip and Liz Quinn, Holycross.
The theme is The Clonmel Blueway, with many large drawings relating to the theme being made by the students. The group will end up with a metal sculpture of the Junior members, which will be on display along the Blueway. This art project is a fairly slow process, especially since there are over 40 junior members and a few tutors involved.
Junior STAG would like to thank and thank the Arts Office, County Tipperary Council, which financially supported the group for this complex project.
Adult members are now back in the Art Hall at Ss Peter and Paul Elementary School on Tuesday evenings and in the Arts Center on Wednesday mornings. STAG requests that all members present be vaccinated and wear a mask. All Covid restrictions are in place for adult and adult members.

Congratulations to all of the STAG artists who have sold art from Befani Restaurant and Clonmel Showgrounds Shopping Center in the past year and a half.

Congratulations also to the STAG painting team for the magnificent murals by Clonmel in the atrium of Ss Peter and Paul’s Primary School; in Cairde, the Alzheimer daycare; the Halloween decorations at the Tesco roundabout and who are now busy painting artwork for the Christmas roundabout, as well as finishing another beautiful marine fold wall painting, which will be on display in a picturesque place in 2022.
