Art exhibition inspired by literature is coming to Cheltenham

Alongside the Cheltenham Literature Festival in October 2022, art lovers can expect an inspiring group exhibition presented by art consultant and curator Louisa Warfield.

Taking place at the Spring Gallery, Cheltenham from Wednesday 5th to Sunday 16th October 2022, the ‘Literature’ pop-up exhibition celebrates the history of the Cheltenham Literature Festival and features 10 artists whose visual work is influenced by words.

In the spirit of storytelling, the artists demonstrate a personal relationship with the text they have chosen, through a guttural and abstract response.

Visitors can expect a varied exhibition, where each work of art, inspired by the written word, contributes to a new narrative.

In addition, on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, guests will be able to attend the private vernissage where they can see the work in preview and have a drink.

Since 1949, the Cheltenham Literature Festival has attracted writers, artists and literature lovers, becoming one of the most popular events on the calendar.

Every year, hundreds of shows and pop-up events come to town to celebrate creative writing in its wide variety of forms.

Louisa Warfield’s first exhibition in Cheltenham is a celebration of the history of festivals, as well as its impact on Gloucestershire’s thriving art scene.
